HoofBeats from Heaven was founded on June 26th, 2014 by 17 year old Lisa Boody. Lisa was born with cerebral palsy. She cannot walk without help but she discovered a passion for horses that is unmatched. From early on, when we lived near a pony farm in Austria - that's where Lisa was born - she formed a bond with these four legged friends and enjoyed going on rides. At age 10 Lisa was able to purchase her first horse, Synderella, with her own money that she had saved up. Synderella was a special mare, she took Lisa through an adventure of learning to actually ride a horse to competing in gymkhanas and winning first place in our local parade.

In 2012 Lisa was ready to move on to a step up horse, Big Shot, who came from current World Champion Barrel Racer, Fallon Taylor of Texas. Lisa and Fallon became close friends and Fallon and her family are now one of the greatest supporters of Lisa. Unfortunatley we lost Synderella in 2012, way too early, due to colic.

In May of 2014 we added Walter, a 10 year old super gentle calm gelding, and in March of 2015 Tanzie, a 13 year old super sweet and gentle mare.

Inspired during a trip to the NFR in Las Vegas in 2013 Lisa hosted a 1st Annual Exceptional Rodeo on March 8th, 2014, creating a fun-filled day of Western/Rodeo activities and entertainment for people facing behavioral, mental, emotional or physical challenges that they otherwise would not be able to experience. The event had an amazing turn out and left a lasting impact on all parties involved. The Exceptional Rodeo has become an annual event that is growing fast, creating awareness in the participating communities and encouraging interaction of children and adults together with their challenged peers in a wide variety of activities, including activities with and on the back of horses,  and games that are fun and give the feel of accomplishment to everyone involved.

Subsequently Lisa formed HoofBeats from Heaven as she wanted to share the wonderful gift horses give on a continuous basis through a therapeutic horseback riding and equine assisted therapy program. Everyone is welcome to join this program and experience how beneficial horse therapy is for your heart and soul, and through this program learn about acceptance and greater understanding of those that are struggling with challenges of whatsoever kind.

Since then we have had some of the most touching moments with our participants meeting our horses, connecting, experience the warmth of feel and touch and hug, a very first encounter for some of them with these gentle giants, their first ride, just unforgettable moments that touch our hearts.

Lisa's mission is to enrich the minds and the souls of the riders and everyone else involved with them, and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a big smile on a person's face when they interact with a horse.

Currently we are limited to hosting the Annual Exceptional Rodeos due to lack of a facility for continuing the therapeutic riding program
